About the garden Cafe

Open every day throughout the year, The Garden Café is the perfect place to enjoy delicious natural honest fast food. Whether it’s a summer day and you are after a light salad or a winter warming soup, you are sure to find something to suit your needs, palate, tastes and budget.

Every cup of coffee and hot chocolate sold is fairtrade. Fairtrade pioneers Clipper supply the Organic English Breakfast tea. Bottled water on sale is provided by One Water who donate 100% of the profit to help fund clean water supply projects in developing countries. So far they have provided clean water to almost 1.5 million people.

The Garden Café chefs prepare the greater part of the food you find on the menu. Local company Roberta’s Patisserie provide a number of the delicious cakes on offer and like The Garden Café bake with butter and free range eggs in their small batch baking. Our opening hours are as follows:

November, December, January - 10:00am-3:30pm
October, February, March - 10:00am-4:30pm
April, May, June, July, August, September - 10:00am-5:30pm

Wednesday's in July, the garden will be open until 8pm for the sounds green music events. The cafe is open until 7:30pm with a terrace bbq and Pimms on the main lawn.


The Garden Café is run by Swift Kitchen Ltd. Trading since 2005, Andrew Smith set up Swift Kitchen Ltd with help from the Princes Trust, in a full cycle The Garden Café now takes work experience placements from the Princes Trust programme.

Andrew and his growing team are pleased to be offering a much wider menu, and are as ever still committed to sourcing quality ethical products, while always offering natural, delicious fast food.
